you need to know how to popshove it and skick flip before trying this trick. Place your back foot on the tail in the shovit position and your front foot just like a kick flip but a little farther back. Scoop and pop the board behind you and slide your front foot forward to get the board to flip. You will have to try different combinations of pop and flip before you get it just right. Commit to the board and the trick and youll get it. Then youll be stoked.

When doing a varial kickflip, get the kickflip before the pop shuvit. Keep your flipping foot farther back, and when you pop flick it off the corner of the nose. Also, you could do what i do, place your foot along the curve of the board. This helps emphasize the pop shuvit. If you are doing it correctly, it will feel comfortable and smooth, and you'll land it.
