The Idiot guide on ollies... from an idiot to an idiot.
Alright man... ollies are the FIRST trick you gotta learn, right? So you should probably learn it right because fifty bajillion tricks branch off of you knowin how to ollie. Since I'm a chick, I had no one to show me how to do this... so here's the "OMG I CAN'T SKATE!" person's guide to ollies...
st: Try ollies standing still... moving will NOT help you if you're a newb and are still uneasy moving too fast.
nd: Figure out your stance. Are you goofy?
rd: Set your comfortable foot on your tail and the other foot on the middle of your deck, like four inches off the front screws.
th: Stomp down with your foot on the tail and put almost all your weight on that foot.
th: Slide your other foot up along the deck almost to the nose of your board.
th: Quick as you can shift your weight to the nose of your board and then even your weight out when you pop your tail up in the air.
th: Chill in the air for a sec, and rejoice that you just ollied.
th: Let yourself fall back to earth, yeah, screw gravity... and touch your back wheels down first and your fronts second. Boom, you just ollied. You can now skate as good as my grandmother, congrats.
