ok, i just baught a new board at the skate shop. didn't think about it till recently, i'm new to skating. and I notice all boards are different size length and width, what do the different sizes mean? or what is the point to it, i just want to skate go out to the park and so on and lern to skate and skate the board i got is i beleieve 8 width maybe a few centimeters short of that, and 32 long, is that to big? or just perfect or what?? i got the measurements cause i just used a tapemeasure and when I do that do i stretch it straight across or put it against the board to go with the concave to get the measurements? the board feels alright but i wanna make sure it's the right deck for what I wanna do, i've been tryig vert (rolling up and down) but not many raps around so mostly i'll be street skating when I can....

8 width is fine
the size is for what type of skating you like(and smaller ones for shorter people)
wide decks are for vert and thinner decks are for street. you are alright for street with an 8" width, and if it is a little smaller then thats even better(for street skating)
