Well, I am not quite sure. I don't really know where to start, like to learn to skateboard. I just want to start slow. I am working on my balance right now. Riding it back and forth in my garage or on my street. What's next?

Ok about the skateshoes. Go to payless and look in the boys section. They have shoes just like real skate shoes and they are good for your first pair of skate shoes then you can move on to different brands. I started off with skate shoes from payless becuase I had a friend who told me where he got his from. and if he wouldn't have told me I never would've known that they were only from payless.

all you need is a board with wheels if yer starting out, f**k the $80 skate shoes, it's not like yer gonna be bustin out a kiclflip down a 12 set or an impossible over a picnic table. all skate shoes do is supposedly add for grip for the board and are more durable (wich i am skeptical about on alot of the skate shoes out there). if ye rstarting out hell a pair of d**n vouts would be good enough, just make sure you don't care if they get thrashed cause most likely they will....

hey well i'd say the first thing to do is balence. To get you're balence figure out whether you're reg. or goofy which is just your foot stance. Practice a little bit getting used to the board etc. Then once you can ride work on simple tricks like the tic tac and ollies.
